For the last five years Comedy for Depression has been raising vital funds for Depression Alliance.
As a charity, Depression Alliance spent over 40 years bringing people together to end the loneliness and isolation that can accompany depression.
Last August, Depression Alliance merged with Mind to enable its work to continue. Depression Alliance decided to merge with Mind because the two charities had a lot in common. Mind wants to support everyone with depression and to bring people with experience of depression together to support each other. Both of these things were at the heart of Depression Alliance’s work.
Now, by coming together, more people with personal experience of depression can support each other and encourage their recovery.
This year Comedy for Depression is raising awareness and funds for Friends in need.
Together, we won’t give up until everyone with depression gets the support they need and the respect they deserve.
Friends in need
Friends in need is a free and supportive community for everyone affected by depression, so you don’t have to go through it alone. You can find new friends in your local area and online, so you’ll always have a safe and friendly space when you need it most.
Nationally, Mind is continuing to deliver the Friends in need online community. Its wellbeing network of services are being delivered by seven local Minds in England and Wales.
